Axle Lane is a federally authorized property transportation broker. We arrange transportation with independent licensed motor carriers. The carrier assigned to your shipment physically transports the vehicle.

Pricing depends on the pickup and delivery locations, mileage, current carrier demand, vehicle size, operability, open versus enclosed equipment, timing and special loading requirements. Submit the actual shipment details and we will review the move.

Axle Lane’s intended consumer workflow is to confirm the carrier and transportation details before collecting the broker portion of the payment. The exact payment timing and method will be shown in your order agreement before you authorize the shipment.

A quote is based on the information available when it is prepared. Changes to the vehicle, condition, locations, timing, transport type or other material shipment details can change the carrier market. We will not dispatch a carrier at a changed transportation price without your approval.

We verify active operating authority and insurance information and review whether the carrier’s equipment and capabilities fit the shipment. Carrier availability varies by route and timing.

The motor carrier is responsible for the physical transportation and carries its own insurance. Axle Lane verifies carrier insurance information before dispatch. Coverage, exclusions and claim handling are governed by the carrier’s policy and applicable shipment documents.

Unless a specific guaranteed service is separately quoted and confirmed in writing, pickup and delivery dates are estimates. Traffic, weather, mechanical issues, prior stops, auction access and other conditions can affect timing.

Open transport moves vehicles on an uncovered auto-transport trailer. It is the most common transportation method for standard vehicles.

Enclosed transport moves the vehicle inside a covered trailer, reducing direct exposure to weather and road debris. It is commonly selected for exotic, classic, collector, restored and other high-value vehicles.

Often, yes. We need to know whether the vehicle rolls, steers, brakes and has keys. The carrier may require a winch, forklift assistance or other equipment depending on the condition.

Yes. We can coordinate qualifying pickups from wholesale and salvage auction locations. We will need the VIN, release information, lot/buyer details, vehicle condition, keys/loading information and destination.

Personal-item rules vary by carrier and may be restricted by weight, safety, insurance or carrier policy. Do not assume personal property is permitted or covered. Ask Axle Lane before loading anything into the vehicle.

Not necessarily. A responsible adult may release or receive the vehicle if they are authorized to do so and can complete the vehicle inspection and shipment documents

Remove valuables, confirm the vehicle can be accessed, take timestamped photos, inspect the vehicle with the driver and keep a copy of the Bill of Lading / condition report.

Inspect the vehicle before signing the delivery documentation. If you believe new damage occurred, note it clearly on the Bill of Lading before the carrier leaves, take photos and contact Axle Lane promptly.
